EYFS

Welcome to the Early Years Foundation Stage at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School

The EYFS Team are thrilled to welcome you and your child into our school family. The first year in school is very important as it helps us to settle into school life and routines, make friends and build relationships with staff, learn the foundations needed to build on through the rest of school and join in the Catholic Life of our school.

Please find below information, key documents and useful resources for you and your child.

If you ever have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

The EYFS Team

The class teacher is Mrs Morrell. The other adults who work in class supporting the children are Mrs Kettlewood, Mrs Chalimoniuk and Miss Blair.

The EYFS Curriculum

We have developed a wide and exciting curriculum for the children during the EYFS year, building on the Early Years Reforms and providing the children with a range of hands on and practical learning opportunities to widen their cultural capital. Our curriculum is built around the characteristics of effective learning, playing and exploring, active learning and creative and critical thinking and supports the children’s learning and development across all 7 areas of learning.
